He worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years, retiring at the age of 81. He married Janice Voigt on September 10, 1961 and they shared 56 years of happiness together. One of ten siblings, Martha was born February 15, 1933.He loved hunting and fishing, but his greatest love was for his family. Picking cotton, sneaking watermelons, and moving from Floresville to Miles to Seguin and more, are the memories shared of her childhood.

In 1999, they moved to Rockport, her happy place, the place where she created so many fond memories with her family over the years.She was born in New Braunfels, Texas to the late Guswin and Wreitha Preusser on October 14, 1942.She married the love of her life, James Henry Smith, on June 1, 1962.He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters Jesus, Alfredo, Rafael, Eloy, Lino, Felix, Reynaldo, Filimon Farias, Luisa Rios, Hortencia Gallardo, Elisa Soliz and Jackie Carrillo.He is survived by his beloved wife Grace Farias; son Nolberto Farias, Jr.Her family wishes to thank the amazing people at AIM Hospice in Rockport for their wonderful care.
